National Park Guided Tour

See an Incredible Diversity of Animals on your Guided Tour! Despite it’s small size, Manuel Antonio National Park is known as the most beautiful National Park in all of Costa Rica. The mountains literally meet the sea and the ecosystem is teeming with over a 200 species of mammals, birds, insects and reptiles.

With our experienced bilingual guides, you will have the opportunity to see a great diversity of wildlife you might otherwise miss, as well as hearing the many interesting stories about the history and geography of the area during this guided walk along spectacular beaches and through the jungle.

Our professionally trained and very knowledgeable guides will lead you through the rainforest so that you don’t miss a thing! They will not only make sure you see all wildlife that the rainforest has to offer, will educate you on the flora and fauna of Costa Rica and make sure you have some fabuous photo momentos as well.

Due to new regulations, this tour must to paid in advance in full as tickets need to be purchaed under each guests’ name & passoport number. The park is closed on Tuesdays.

Chocolate & Coffee Farm

The only Chocolate & Coffee tour in the area, offering a unique experience with lasting memories – and your tour starts with Chocolate! First we will share the cultural and biological background of cacao, the main ingredient in chocolate, around the world and here in Costa Rica.

You will then see chocolate making with your own eyes are we show you the cacao production process including how to the collect, ferment, grind and finally prepare the cacao nibs we have created into chocolate, the drink of the gods! What goes great with chocolate? Yes, that’s right! Next we start on the coffee section of the tour.

We touch on its’ importance for Costa Rica’s economic and cultural development and you can explore our showroom of important coffee picking instruments and real producing plants to better explain the process of coffee production. Before we leave this section of the tour we will show you how to make Café-Chorreado – the real Costarican practice of preparing coffee.

Finally, we share with you one of the most important aspects of Costarican culture and tradition; the Trapiche (mechanic sugarcane-mill). Here we grind sugar cane to extract the juice and make delicious cocktails – here’s to the sweetest tour in Manuel Antonio!

Organic Spice Farm

Take a gentle walk through the plantation with hands-on sensory pit-stops – this fragrant & educational hands-on tour will satisfy the curiosity of those of all ages. A treat for the senses, we will navigate around the farm while identifying an interesting variety of spices such as our much loved vanilla trees, true ceylon cinnamon, cacao, black pepper, allspice, turmeric and variety of exotic fruits and medicinal plants.

The tour begins in the post harvest warehouse where we dry, process and package our spices. Then the fun begins with a gentle walk through our distinctive “Epiphyte Trail” winding through the farm. We will pass the pond on the way to the viewpoint where you will experience our “Flavors of the World” tasting with homemade treats highlighting spices that grow on the farm, all while looking out into the lush tropical rainforest.

Lucky guests may get a visit from the farm’s permanent inhabitants; such as hummingbirds, Scarlet macaws, toucans and squirrel monkeys. No trip to Villa Vanilla is complete without a visit to our spice shop where visitors and chefs alike stock up on vanilla beans and extract, ceylon cinnamon, our tree-to-bar chocolate and other products grown on the farm to give as gifts or try in their own recipes.

Family Canopy Zipline

A Wonderful Family Friendly Canopy Zipline tour that offers something for everyone – from our thrilling Superman line and tarzan swing, to our butterfly garden & walking trails, then on to zip lines where the whole family can fly like a monkey through the canopy of the rainforest. On arriving at our farm, you will visit our stunning restaurant set next to a pristine river right in the heart of the protected rainforest.

Next to our restaurant is our butterfly garden, our serpentarium and our cayman pond. Here our guides take everyone on a mini-tour where you can learn about the amazing life cyle of these beautiful animals. This is one of the largest tours with twenty platforms, eleven zip lines, two rappel lines, two suspension bridges, a tarzan swing and our newest attractions: The Superman and the QuickJump. All of these exciting elements are built in a circuit that starts and ends at our restaurant.

On our private rainforest reserve we also have a wonderful walking trail system for those guests who prefer to keep their feet on the ground. Our trail system is set in the heart of our jungle property right below the canopy platforms. So those guests who choose to enjoy the trails can still see and cheer on their friends and family who are on the zip line course. At our restaurant we serve delicious typical stylebuffet lunch, included in your tour.

Rainmaker Nature Reserve

Explore the Hanging Bridges, River Walk and Rich Biodiveristy of the Rainmaker Reserve Rainmaker is home to Morpho butterflies, varieties of birds, the colorful poison dart frog, and thousands of unique plant species.

Depending on the time of year, keep a look out for incredible reptiles and other animals that make their way down to the water to drink and cool off. Continuing further up the trails, you’ll meet the large Canopy Bridge system which consists of dozens of suspension bridges, built to U.S. engineeering standards.

The six sections total 250 meters, spanning from platforms attached to massive hardwood trees to create the most impressive Canopy Walk in Costa Rica. The design permits minimal forest impact, giving our participants an opportunity to explore the majesty of the forest canopy from a bird’s eye view.

At the end of the walk a pristine waterfall pool will beckon you to enjoy a refreshing dip.

Butterflies & Crocs

This Unique Experience to See and Learn about Butterflies and Crocs Enjoy a peaceful visit to the butterfly garden, a beautiful and unforgettable treat! Sukia is home to many types of these magnificent insects, as well as the world famous Blue Morpho which will be literally flying around you as you pass through.

During the visit you will also receive plenty of information about the intriguing and magical life stages of this wonderful insect. The Crocodile Lagoon hosts rescued species that are cared for at Sukia to prevent them from being a part of illegal trading. You can learn more about crocodiles as well as see them up close.

Catamaran Coastal Cruise

Welcome aboard! Relax and enjoy the cruise Join us as we cruise into the open sea, looking for spotted dolphins, migrating humpback whales, sea turtles and manta rays. You will be captivated by the sight of dolphins frolicking in the boat’s wake, or the inimitable sound of a whale’s song. As we make our way down the coastline of Manuel Antonio National Park, mysterious islands, jagged cliffs and unique rock formations will look almost close enough to reach out and touch. These are the nesting grounds and home for numerous species of marine birds, including pelicans, boobies and ibises.

After touring the coastline, we will anchor in a protected cove within the pristine Biesanz Bay for snorkeling. We provide masks, snorkels and fins, all you need to submerge and observe the underwater playground for many species of colorful tropical fish. After you have finished snorkeling, come back on board and enjoy a delicious lunch we have prepared for you. As you relax over lunch on our boat in the tranquil bay, surrounded by the lush verdant landscape, having enjoyed all our tour has to offer, you might well feel that you now know the meaning of the word paradise.

The last leg of the tour is the trip back to the Quepos marina. An unforgettable added bonus for anyone who comes on one of our summer afternoon tours is the chance to witness one of our dramatic tropical sunsets en route to the harbor. You will spend around 3.5 hours aboard our boat, but the memories will last a lifetime.

Mountain Horseback Ride

A Unique Horseback Ride with Spectacular Waterfall Views! This exceptional tour is more than a Horseback ride, you are welcomed as part of our family and get a glimpse of Costa Rica life and learn about the tropical rainforest as you ride through it.

We are located 10 miles from Manuel Antonio area in the foothills of the Cerro Nara mountains and so no long drive to reach us. Our unique horseback ride through rainforest ends with a swim under spectacular waterfalls. Feel the fresh air of the jungle while you explore and take pictures of our amazing wilde life: Primary and secondary rain forest, toucans, butterflies and many other animals Children under 4 years old can ride with their parent or guide as well.

Children 5 & over will be paired with a small, tame horse that can be led, if desired by a mounted parent or guide as we ride. All our horses are safe, well mannered-mounts. They are well fed, healthy horses, eager to please. This is because we have many horses, so they are never overworked. Each horse carries a waterproof poncho in case of rain – for you to use not for the horses!

Jungle Night Walk

Once the sun sets in the rainforest the magnificent secrets of the jungle are ready to being discovered. It’s the best time to find, observe and photograph beautiful tree frogs, shy snakes, colorful insects, mammals and other rainforest creatures that only come out at night.

Walking at night guided by one of our certified nature interpreters is a wonderful experience. Armed with flashlight, you can explore the dark side of the forest, wild life lurking in the shadows and see incredible creatures such as rain forest frogs, tarantulas, scorpions, kinkajous, sloths among many other if the of the forest habitants you may see.

Mangrove Boat Tour

Enjoy us on a on a relaxing boat ride through the beautiful and complex ecosystem of the Damas Island mangroves – your nature guide will describe a variety of biological relationships between many organisms in this delicate habitat.

This relaxing 3.5 hours of tour begins just offshore of the Damas Island estuary, about 3 miles northwest of Quepos. You will be picked up from your villa by one of our guides in your complimentary shuttle and dropped off at our dock. Your motorboat is partially covered to protect you from the sun, and once on board you will be glided along the fascinating canals structure of Isla de Damas.

During the trip your guide will provide extensive information about the complex, self-sustaining mangrove system, including the various types of mangroves found in Costa Rica. You will have the chance to see wildlife such as white-faced monkeys, a variety of birds, snakes, crocodiles and iguanas, just to name a few!
